Today campers created new car designs by converting fractions to decimals and using the resulting factors to scale the original design, both horizontally and vertically.

We looked at very small insects and identified body parts and made measurements. The campers also used their cutting and pasting skills to create some interesting effects and creatures!

Image processing techniques that were used included:

  • manipulating stacks
  • measuring distances
  • scaling images
  • creating a montage
  • cutting and pasting

Campers had fun making their own automobile designs. They increased head room and leg room by scaling vertically and horizontally.

After scaling the head of a fruit fly, it ended up as the head of the Mona Lisa!

Creating frame by frame animation was a favorite activity for many campers.

Even at break time, some campers chose to continue working with NIH Image.
